The Blessing Ceremony

The next day we all went to another party at Anita's parents' apartment. This time it was our turn to do something – smear Anita and Frederick with various spice pastes to ensure adequate protections in their life together.



Frederick was the first to appear. Here he sits waiting for Anita to make her appearance. It was worth it.




Anita has a lot of gold jewelery but not nearly as much as she'll wear at the wedding ceremony itself. The Indian government is quite concerned with all that jewelery. It is trying to prevent people from buying so much gold. It seems that money invested in gold is “dead” money. The government would rather see people invest in some kind of industry.
